Biographische Notiz: Wadim Rorschach, the son of Hermann and Olga Rorschach, was born on 1st May 1919 in Herisau, where his father held the post as associate director at the Cantonal Psychiatric Clinic. When his father died in 1922 he was just three years old. Two years later the family moved to Teufen in the Canton Appenzell. After his school years in Teufen and later at the Cantonal School St.Gallen Wadim Rorschach matriculated in 1938 as a medical student at the university in Zurich. In 1945, after an intermediate semester in Lausanne, he concluded his studies and afterwards worked as assistant in various hospitals. In 1950 he received his doctorate in medicine and in 1952 opened a general practice in Buchs in the Canton Aargau. After several years training in psychiatric clinics he became specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy and in 1973 opened a private practice as psychiatrist.
