Bemerkung:   Das Künstler*innenbuch von Michael Buthe trägt den Titel „Die wundersame Reise des Saladin Ben Ismael aus den nördlichen Provinzen des nordafrikanischen Kontinents in das Reich des Ägypters Ismael Pascha, um im Süden des Lades der schönen Wolllust der Liebe zu frönen, den Nil abwärts zu fahren, in die Reiche der Kreter, der Griechen, um anschließend heimzukehren in das Land der Etrurier, mit welchem ihn eine heimliche Liebe verband.“ und wurde 1977 vom Lamuv Verlag in Köln herausgegeben. Der gesamte Titel gemeinsam mit einem Stempel von Michael Buthe (geflügelte Löwen halten einen Stern) schmücken den goldenen Buchumschlag, auf dessen Rückseite eine Illustration von Buthe zu sehen ist sowie der Schriftzug „Michel De La Sainte Beaute“. Das Buch erzählt eben diese Geschichte, teilweise bebildert durch s/w-Illustrationen, die ausklappbar sind und über die Seitengröße hinausgehen. Zu Beginn des Buches befindet sich eine handschriftliche Widmung von Buthe an Jean-Christophe Ammann. // The artist’s book by Michael Buthe is entitled “Die wundersame Reise des Saladin Ben Ismael aus den nördlichen Provinzen des nordafrikanischen Kontinents in das Reich des Ägypters Ismael Pascha, um im Süden des Lades der schönen Wolllust der Liebe zu frönen, den Nil abwärts zu fahren, in die Reiche der Kreter, der Griechen, um anschließend heimzukehren in das Land der Etrurier, mit welchem ihn eine heimliche Liebe verband.” [The wondrous journey of Saladin Ben Ismael from the northern provinces of the North African continent to the kingdom of the Egyptian Ismael Pasha, to indulge in the beautiful lust of love in the south of the country, to travel down the Nile to the kingdoms of the Cretans and Greeks, and then to return home to the land of the Etrurians, with whom he was secretly in love] and was published in 1977 by Lamuv Verlag in Cologne. The entire title together with a stamp by Michael Buthe (winged lions holding a star) adorn the golden book cover, on the back of which an illustration by Buthe and the words “Michel De La Sainte Beaute” can be seen. The book tells this very story, partly illustrated with b/w illustrations that can be folded out and extend beyond the page size. At the beginning of the book there is a handwritten dedication from Buthe to Jean-Christophe Ammann.
